Digital Canberra Challenge
The Digital Canberra Challenge is an ACT Government initiative promoting ACT innovator and SME engagement. It is a stepping stone toward an enhanced perception of Canberra as a modern digital city. Such collaboration creates new, improved digital government services, and is anticipated to stimulate innovation in electronic and mobile technologies, and improve community access to services.
As stated in its Strategic Plan for ICT 2011-2015, the ACT Government's motivations for the Program are twofold:
'Make living in Canberra easier by developing, with the community, an integrated, comprehensive and affordable range of readily accessible online services'
'Use ICT to promote Open Government and online community engagement'.
The Digital Canberra Challenge will be delivered by the Australian e-Government Technology Cluster ('eGov Cluster') under the direction of a Program Board, whilst being sponsored and managed by NICTA.
Details of the previous and current rounds, challenges, and competitors can be found on the Digital Canberra Challenge website.
